About Me

My name is Mark Johnson and  I am based near Derby, England. Since leaving School in 2002, I have been working towards a career in the Construction Industry. After completing a BTEC National Diploma in Construction at Derby College, I progressed onto a HND in Construction at Derby University, where after one year I moved onto a BSC (Hons) course in Architectural Technology & Digital Innovation which I completed in 2008.

During my degree course I completed a one year work placement at an Ashbourne based Architectural Practice, where upon completion I was offered a part time role whilst I finished off the final year of my degree course.

Once I had completed my degree in 2008 the practice offered me a full time permanent role where i stayed until February 2011. During my time at the practice I worked on a variety of projects including Domestic, Educational, Retail, Commercial, Agricultural and Churches. My work was broad and consisted of carrying out measured surveys of the property, drawing the existing and proposed plans, obtaining planning permission, working drawings and details for Building Regulations. As the practice was based in Ashbourne, many of the projects were either in a Conservation area and/or a listed building.

Over the past several years I have worked on various CAD systems predominantly 2D on AutoCAD and Drawing express, although I have also worked on 3D AutoCAD, Google Sketch UP and ArchiCAD.
